THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME BUTCHER YOUR DEER !!!
A FEW IMPORTANT TIPS FOR YOU TO REMEMBER
ALWAYS HANG YOUR GAME FROM THE REAR END NOT THE HEAD
All your best meat is in the hindquarter and you don’t want everything to drip into the best part of your game and ruin any of the precious meat.
LET IT HANG OVERNIGHT IF POSSIBLE
If the weather is warm and you get nervous you can fill an empty gallon jug with water and freeze it and put it inside the cavity. Take one with you on your hunting trip so you won’t be worried and ruin the rest of your trip. REMEMBER a Deer’s hair is hollow and placing the frozen gallon inside will act as a refrigerator. This way your meat will not spoil. Keep it out of the direct sun & rain, and if needed, cover loosely with a tarp allowing the air to get in. If it remains very warm give me a call ASAP to get it butchered, but it should last for 1 -2 days, at 50 – 60 degrees, as long as it was NO PROBLEM !!!
FREEZE MEAT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER IT IS PACKAGED
Once the meat is prepared and packaged I recommend that you freeze it ASAP, if you are not going to use it within a day or two. The plastic wrap should hold your meat in the freezer for about six months without freezer burn, depending on your freezer. All of last year’s meat should be used by now. Also, try not to stack the unfrozen packages, to avoid pushing the blood out. This will keep our “significant other” happy. That way, we won’t get yelled at in the last two minutes of the football game. THERE IS A METHOD TO OUR MADNESS.
GET YOUR HIDE OR MOUNT TO THE TAXIDERMIST ASAP
Your taxidermist will be able to do a much better job for you if you get the stuff to him ASAP after the skin has been removed from the meat.

MEAT IS NOT GOVERNMENT INSPECTED (OF COURSE)
The meat that you got back has not been inspected and is not guaranteed. HOWEVER, I have been butchering deer for many years and have rarely seen a problem. I take the position that if I would not have packaged the meat for my own family to eat I would not have packaged it for you or your family to eat. I would have called you and let you know that there was a problem. Any bruised, bloodshot or otherwise non-edible meat was cut off and disposed of in the garbage. We do not want our family to get sick. FURTHERMORE we process each deer separately and individually unlike some of the other butchers, and I use that term loosely. If you bring meat to me that you took care of, you are guaranteed that you are getting back ALL of YOUR meat and not someone else’s mess.
